Katherine Coble Stilwell

Mrs. Katherine Coble Stilwell, 94, died peacefully at her home in Southminster in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

Katherine was born in Overhills, North Carolina on September 28, 1923 to Sabra and Charles Coble. A graduate of Appalachian State Teacher's College in 1944, she completed a 30 year teaching career in the Fort Bragg School System. During that time, she married Joe Stilwell and they had two daughters. They made their home in Fayetteville for 64 years and Highland Presbyterian Church was their church home since 1950.

She was predeceased by her husband, James S. "Joe" Stilwell. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Stilwell of Charlotte, NC and Charlotte Surman of Marietta, Georgia; and her granddaughter, Meghan Sabra DeVille of Denver, Colorado.

A memorial service was held at Southminster on Saturday, December 16 at 11am. There was also a service at Highland Presbyterian Church after the holidays.
