LINDEN - Durwood Grant Barefoot, 72, of Linden, passed away peacefully in his residence Friday, May 15, 2015.

He was an Army veteran.

Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015, in Liberty Baptist Church, 1625 Ray Road, Spring Lake. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Barefoot is survived by his wife, Peggy Poole Barefoot; daughters, Michelle Gerringer (Keith) and Andrea Barefoot; stepchildren, Kenneth and Rhonda Foshee; grandchildren, Jeremy Dammann, Colton Gerringer, Dane, Olivia, Brooke and Brayden Martin; stepgrandchildren, Jacob, Michelle and Daniel Foshee, and Jessica and Michael Dunbar; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Logan and Daisy Dammann; and siblings, Shirley Lee, Patsy West (Dallas), Carolyn Warren (Charles) and Benny Barefoot (Peggy).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 1625 Ray Road, Spring Lake, NC 28390.
